The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States.

In Florida, this mission takes on special significance as we serve one of the nation’s largest and most diverse Hispanic populations. From the Cuban communities of Miami to Puerto Rican enclaves in Central Florida, Colombian networks in Jacksonville, and Mexican farmworker communities throughout rural counties, LULAC Florida State tailors its advocacy to address the unique challenges facing each segment of our vibrant Latino tapestry. Our councils work diligently at the local level to identify barriers to advancement and create targeted programs that empower Hispanic Floridians to thrive in every aspect of life—whether through educational scholarships for promising students, housing workshops for first-time homebuyers, or health screenings in underserved neighborhoods.

Since our founding, LULAC Florida State has understood that lasting progress requires both grassroots community action and strategic policy advocacy. We engage directly with state legislators, school boards, and local governments to ensure Hispanic voices are represented in decision-making processes that affect our communities. Through coalition-building, data-driven research, and mobilizing our membership, we’ve secured important victories in expanding language access in government services, protecting voting rights, improving educational equity, and combating workplace discrimination. As Florida’s demographic landscape continues to evolve, LULAC remains committed to building bridges across cultures while preserving the rich heritage that makes our Hispanic communities so vibrant and resilient.
