TODAS PARA UNA Y UNA PARA TODAS!
During the month of March every year, we celebrate what makes the women of LULAC and their neighbors special—the magnificent work they perform for their sisters and their communities. This we must continue to do so we can foster more special ladies to be part of our work and of our organization.
Sisters and brothers… we are surely living through very turbulent times, but la mujer de LULAC does not back down. She continues to serve those who need her most—whether through counseling, job hunting, spiritual training, or food pantries. La mujer de LULAC is there, always ready to lend an ear, take a look at an idea, and even fight for her fellow mujer for a just cause.
But it is in these times, when families are being torn apart by massive, unjust deportations, mass firings without just cause, and cuts to essential programs that keep a woman’s family and community soaring.
Now more than ever, LULAC FL should reach out to National and its leadership team in FL to find ways to assist their respective councils and their female members. They should build platforms where we can come together and share workable plans to assist nuestras mujeres de LULAC.
Council 7269 does just that, but on a smaller scale. Every year, we celebrate this month with our “Annual International Women’s Business Summit.” During this event, we hold forums, exhibitor showcases, lunch, and award the Amazing Women of LULAC Scholarship—something we’ve done since the very beginning, when we gave birth to our council here in Polk County, FL. We have given away four short-term scholarships, and this year we will be awarding one to a very special lady in our community. Helping one female at a time!
